Lake Waccamaw Ride | Vass American Legion    Thirteen years ago, we were approached by Linda Oldham with a request to establish a benefit ride for the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina, Inc.  After learning more about them, we were determined to make it happen, but we wanted to add a twist...  the Chapter Challenge!

Please join us on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, as we go to celebrate veterans birthdays at Kingswood Nursing Home. We will meet at the Post at 12:30 PM then proceed to the nursing home at 1:00 PM. Hope to see many of you there.

A bit of good news. Our trailer has been recovered and returned to the Post home. It's missing some items but in good shape. Thanks to our local LEO's for their diligence.

Riders:

The family of SFC Eric M. Emond has requested that we stand for him as he has Stood for this country. SFC Emond gave his life for his country during operations in Afghanistan on November 27, 2018. SFC Emond was attached to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group based in Fort Bragg, N.C.

Mission date is : December 12, 2018.

This will be an es**rt only mission.

Staging will be at 10:00 AM at the Moore Regional Airport, 7825 Aviation Drive, Carthage , NC, 28327.

Upon arrival of the aircraft we will render Honors for SFC Emond and es**rt Him and family to :
Boles Funeral Home
425 W. Pennsylvania Avenue
Southern Pines, N.C. 28387

Upon arrival at the funeral home we will again Honor SFC Emond. We will then depart.

If you wish to be a part of the es**rt, please attend the pre es**rt briefing at 10:30 AM
If you wish to stage at the funeral home, please arrive at 11:00 am.

A mission for the memorial service will be posted as soon as arrangements are complete.

Paul Briggs, NCPGR Sandhills Assistant District Captain will be the RCIC for this mission.
