Growing into leaders right in front of our eyes🥹🤍

Yesterday, we hosted our first ever “Miss Aberdeen Summer Camp!” It was a day filled with so much fun, laughter & activities!💖👑

We got to know eachother by playing welcome bingo, then we moved on to stretching and relaxing with a yoga class by Allie at Fit and Fire Studios!🧘‍♀️

Next up, we ate some yummy pizza thanks to one of our sponsors - Godfathers Pizza Express Aberdeen in C-Express! Following lunch was a camper favorite, cupcake decorating! Here the girls learned what each piping tip does, how to use them, and what designs they can make - and it wouldn’t have been possible without our cupcake queen Rebecca Acklin! 🧁

We also explored bits of history by walking through the Dacotah Prairie Museum, which was also a stop for our scavenger hunt!🕵️

During the scavenger hunt, each group completed challenges at local downtown businesses to receive their next clue. We are so grateful for the participating of these businesses for their effort in making our campers day so fun!

Lastly, the girls got to take a moment to hear a little about who the Miss Aberdeen Committee is, our queens, and what they do throughout their year as title holders. This was such a fun event and we were so lucky to have held it in a beautiful event space, thanks to the Finery on Main Event Venue. The space is so inviting, clean, and well put together, we highly recommend them for all your event needs!

This was only our first year hosting this.. but i’m so happy to say it definitely isn’t our last!! Thank you to all who signed up and all our volunteers. Such a fun day!!☀️

The Miss Aberdeen Committee is committed to empowering youth, promoting community involvement, and creating opportunities for personal growth and leadership. We’re excited to continue serving our community and building new connections through the Chamber.
