How I spent my Easter Break from school

Exploring gouache and project for my students.

I've stared across the street at this little barn for 15 yrs watching the seasons pass and how the light plays across the barn, totally fascinated while waiting to paint it. I'm so glad the new owners didn't tear it down. This was a joy to paint with my shinhan professional gouache.

Forgot how much I liked working with a dip pen and India ink

My Christmas present to myself. They arrived from Jackson's art in England the day after I left for my daughter's. So when I got home last night I unwrapped, labeled and switched each beautiful color. I live them so much especially the color lazurite made from lapis lazuli. It's the color of the blue band in the painting The Girl with Pearl Earring by Vermeer. It was also the most costly of them. I'm thinking of maybe doing the plein air painting at Shadows on the Teche.
