Self Help groups are supported by our team to look at Entrepreneurship opportunities within their communities. Florence is one of the farmer that has embraced the idea and she sales jackfruit to members whenever they meet for the trainings. She is able to make sales of upto $2 per training. she is able to save part of it and use the rest for household needs.

Since last week, our partners have been Conducting trainings for new Village Health Teams (VHTs) across the districts in Elgon region. VHTs play a critical role in keeping health vigilance in rural areas. Hundreds of VHTS are being empowered with skills to help their communities.

Small hands, big impact! Goats bring hope to Women and Children in Namawanga community of Mbale! Through our Livelihood project, Women in groups are supported with goats that help them pay school fees for their children. In addition these women are encouraged to save which help them to access Small loans to start Small rural Enterprises.

Yesterday we were struck by the news about the demise of our long-term Staff, Eleanor Catherine Hanyiga, who has served in department for nearly 20 years. Mrs Hanyiga was more than a staff! She was a Mother, a friend and Mentor to us. She baked cakes for us. The pain of her loss is growing every hour that passes!! May her Soul Rest in enternal Peace! Farewell Mum!

Based in Rural Nangilima Village, Bumasikye Sub-county-Mbale District, these groups from small savings have managed to buy a tent and chairs which they intend to hire out at afee to community Members.
