Today is world epilepsy day. Do a good deed about problems faced by a person suffering from epilepsy, their family or carer.

The second Monday in February is International Epilepsy day. RIDO joins everyone to celebrate and highlight the problems faced by people with epilepsy, their families and carers. We at RIDO are focussing on Emmanuel Luwemba, 22 and his carer Mary Namusu. They live in Manywa village in Kyanamukaaka sub county, Masaka District. Emmanuel was diagnosed with epilepsy in primary two and sent away from school because he was getting frequent rigorous seizures. Mary sadly says "He was such a bright boy with a neat handwriting.." Mary's biggest challenge as a carer is access to regular medication for Emmanuel. She says "I cannot afford the medication and when he misses out on his dose he gets up to three seizures in a day." Join RIDO in putting up an income generating project in which Emmanuel can also participate.
