Doddridge Busingye (b. 1990) is a Kampala-based Ugandan artist whose work boldly explores identity, social justice, and cultural narratives. With a Master of Fine Arts from Makerere University and a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Industrial Design from Kyambogo University, Busingye blends academic rigor with personal insight to craft visually arresting stories rooted in Uganda’s sociopolitical landscape.
His practice merges intimate reflections on family and everyday life with deep research into history, politics, and current affairs. Through symbolic imagery and striking compositions, Busingye challenges societal norms while celebrating resilience, care, and self-acceptance.
Exhibited in major cities like New York, Venice, Zurich, Dubai, Memphis, and Kampala, his work resonates globally, inviting viewers into conversations about community, identity, and change. Busingye’s art is both personal and universal — a powerful lens on contemporary life.
