At Hand to Hand Development Initiative, we work to improve the lives of vulnerable children and families through community outreach, education, child protection, and health awareness.

HIV is a virus that attacks the body's immune system. Without treatment, it can lead to AIDS. However, with modern medicine, people living with HIV can live long, healthy, and productive lives.

Uganda has made significant progress in fighting HIV/AIDS, but new infections continue to occur. This is why awareness, prevention, and testing remain important.

HIV can be transmitted through unprotected sexual contact, infected blood, sharing contaminated needles, and from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding without proper medical care.

HIV cannot be spread through hugging, handshakes, sharing food, mosquito bites, or casual contact. Understanding these facts helps reduce stigma and misinformation.

Prevention begins with knowledge. Regular HIV testing, safe sexual practices, avoiding shared sharp objects, and seeking medical advice can help reduce the risk of infection.

Knowing your HIV status is one of the most important steps you can take. Early testing and treatment help individuals stay healthy and protect others.

People living with HIV deserve dignity, respect, and support. Together, we can build communities free from stigma and discrimination.

At Hand to Hand Development Initiative, we believe that education and community action are key to creating healthier futures.
