Emotional marketing refers to marketing messages and campaigns that primarily use emotion to make a business’s target market aware of the business and influence the target market to buy, remember and share the business and its offerings.

Emotional marketing is a useful tactic to employ for a number of reasons. No matter how rational a consumer may be, emotions always have sway, as people are emotional beings that base many of their decisions on how they feel at a particular time.

Emotional marketing connects audiences with brands in a personal and human way and has the power to associate brands, their products and campaigns with distinct feelings.

As new media channels, devices, and platforms emerge, they provide additional avenues for brands to partake in emotional marketing, which is proven to be effective for various purposes. Firstly, 70% of emotionally engaged consumers spend up to two times or more on brands, as opposed to the less than half (49%) of consumers with low emotional engagement.

Additionally, marketing messaging that is purely emotional performs twice as well as rational content (31% vs. 16%). It is evident that this kind of marketing engages customers and produces key results. #EmotionalMarketing

We have been cooking, and we are now ready to serve!

The Twitter Barbecue Party is a networking and fun party with the intention of bringing together Ugandans on Twitter (UOT) and other social media platforms for a meet and greet musical event. This event was driven by a popular outcry and demand from many people in the digital space who craved to have a better networking platform where they can connect, share ideas and opportunities in the digital marketing arena in Uganda.

To spice it up, we have barbecue, drinks, feature DJs and musicians who appeal to the twitter audience amidst different indoor games that keep the revelers connected as they network.

The first edition of the Twitter Barbecue Party that was held on 20th July, 2019 at Swahili Gardens in Kungu garnered a crowd of 700+ revelers. The turn up was expected to hit the 1,000 mark however due to unforeseen weather conditions, and distance to the party venue, the target was not achieved. We have had 3 editions so far and all have garnered a huge number of people at Monalisa De Boss Lounge in Kisaasi.

Due to public demand, the Twitter Barbecue Party 4th edition has been slated for 3rd April 2021 at Monalisa De Boss bar and this time round, the intended turn up is projected to surpass 1,000 revelers while observing the SOPs with stringent measures.

In the past, the value of companies was measured by the tangible assets that they owned. But following the emergence of brand equity as a concept, people started to realise that the real brand value actually lies in the minds of potential customers.

In other words, having a strong brand is equivalent to having an intangible asset that you can cash on in the future. Your brand equity is basically comprised of your brand reputation, trust (how many people trust you), your brand awareness (how many potential customers know you) and your image.

When people know your brand and trust it, that easily translates into money. In other words, they will buy whatever you are selling and won’t mind paying a higher price for it. Not only that, they will also be more willing to invest with and in you.
Robert Goizueta , the former CEO of the Coca Cola company once bragged about the company’s ability to raise funds by saying, ‘’ What would happen if tomorrow we woke up and every single asset that Coke has , was wiped out? I could walk into any bank and borrow the money to restart operations just based on the brand name.’’

In other words, the value of the Coca Cola brand is so strong in the minds of the consumer that it easily translates into strong market performance and shareholder value. #DigitalMarketing
