[12/19/17]   Government should run campaigns about the reasons for taking children to school. Ugandans still think its useless even when they can afford to

18/12/2017

Its been quite a revealing experience at this school today. It was started by a few people out of their pocket with emphasis on teaching phoenetics and sounds in the English language plus local dialects. The bitter fact is that parents who earn lots of money in fishing could not put aside money for their children's education and yet can afford to have it elsewhere.

Not so many will talk so much about books in Uganda. Being the Africans we are, the trends do not have it yet that many of us like to read. The saying usually goes,’ if you want to hide something from an African, put in a book. But well, thank God our literacy levels are going up every now and then .Uganda’s literacy level stands at about 73% which is also a very good source of achievement as far as the millennium development goals are concerned. This just indicates and gives us hope that the reading culture is becoming better and better every day.

The Girl Who Hated Books

Reading!Reading! Some of us tend to pass on to the next step and avoid this process. If you had kids and they failed to lean or understand why they need to read. This video will try to explain a little bit more

[01/29/17]   When you get a book to read it is not a burden to your eyes or brain. It instead enriches your mind, enlightens you and makes you more brighter.

So how far does reading come from?

The earliest history of books actually predates what would conventionally be called "books" today and begins with tablets, scrolls, and sheets of Papyrus. Then hand-bound, expensive, and elaborate books, called codices, appeared. These gave way to press-printed volumes and eventually lead to the mass printed tomes prevalent today.

[01/11/17]   More than 1000 schools in Uganda do not have libraries that are adequate enough and it gets worse in rural regions where schools do not have libraries at all and yet they are required to set final exams each year that test them into the next level.

Benefits Of Reading

More than often we tend to ignore reading through a book or any papers presented to us. The best we can do is read the first few lines and then we pass on the papers. When it comes to any legal documents we tend to trust so much the other party and flip over to the last page.

But what if we read till the end wouldn't it make a difference. Let us embrace reading, we will not regret our next step in our lives.

Why is it that 75% of self-made millionaires report reading at least 2 books a month? The benefits of reading may be the cause of massive success for thousan...

[12/17/16]   Writing too began as early as the discovery of Clay tablets which were used in Mesopotamia in the 3rd millennium BC. It is no surprise then that as quoted by the bible God wrote the ten commandments on the tablets that He gave Moses. Perhaps these tablets were also clay.
