The involvement of student organisations in the public sphere marked a significant turning point in Mr Sabahelkhir's life, as he was actively involved in the student wing of the Sudanese Congress Party during the civil movement that preceded the outbreak of the war.

Following the outbreak of the war in Sudan, Sabahelkhir focused his efforts on issues of refugee integration within host communities and the promotion of peacebuilding pathways, with a particular focus on the roles young people can play in addressing the effects of conflict.

Sabahelkhir's Peace Frame organisation focuses on promoting youth diplomacy as a means of fostering positive peace and enhancing the involvement of young people both within their respective communities and on a global scale.

On 15 May, Sabahelkhir will share his perspectives on youth work and peacebuilding in contexts affected by conflict.
