As part of Water Week, on 17 March 2026, the Ministry of Water and Environment launched a tree nursery greenhouse at Bishop Stuart University, Mbarara β a key milestone in restoring the Rwizi Catchment.
Implemented with BSU and ACORD Uganda, the initiative will supply high-quality tree seedlings to rehabilitate degraded ecological hotspots and strengthen long-term environmental sustainability and water security in the region.

A great day for Nakivale Refugee Settlement! π
ACORD Uganda, in partnership with UNFPA and the Office of the Prime Minister, has successfully commissioned the Women & Girls Safe Space under the Delivering Life-Saving Interventions in Emergency project.
This Safe Space will provide:
β Psychosocial support
β GBV prevention & response services
β SRHR information
β A safe, welcoming environment for women and girls
We celebrate the resilience of the women and girls of Kankingi E β and we thank all partners, leaders, and community members who made this possible.

From 26thβ28th August 2025, ACORD Uganda joined partners and stakeholders in Gulu City for the 5th Acholi Regional Health Assembly.
Key discussions focused on:

The state of Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) in humanitarian settings
β
The emerging role of self-care in improving access to health services
We were honored to learn from Ministry of Health representatives, humanitarian partners like IRC, and many others who shared experiences and best practices.
π The Assembly was officially closed by Hon. Eng. Hillary Onek, Minister for Relief and Disaster Preparedness.

ACORD Uganda country office staff (Director of Programmes and Internal Auditor) conducted a support and monitoring visit to the Agriculture and Market Support (AMS) project in Nakapiripirit, Napak and Nabilatuk District. In the photos, they are seen witnessing some of the commodities (like cooking oil) produced by Kaala women oil processing group that received support from the project.
