What better way to appreciate the beauty of Uganda๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ as you cruise along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the most powerful water falls in the world - The Murchison Falls.

Travel Tip Tuesday โ€“ Your Passports & Expiry Dates!

Happy New Year Friends, Followers & Associates! A number of you have been contacting World-Trotters and asking about passport processing and validity. Today, let's remind ourselves of the most important things a lot of travelers take for granted. Passports and expiry dates. (Please note that World-Trotters does not process or renew Passports for our customers. Rather, we only guide you on the correct procedures to follow!

What is a Passport? - A passport is a travel document issued by your origin country which allows you to travel internationally. Usually, an ordinary passport is valid for 5 to 10 years, and because of this, most people neglect to check if their passport is about to expire. However, if your passport has less than 3 or 6 months before expiration, most countries or even Airlines will not allow you to travel.

What Is the Passport 6-Month Rule? - The 6-month passport rule states that your passport must be valid for another six months before you depart for international travel. Depending on which country you are travelling to, the six-month period may begin from the date you leave that country or the date you arrive.

Why Should your Passport Be Valid for Six Months If I Will Stay Abroad for Less? - Your passport needs to be valid for 6 months to prevent you from overstaying in a foreign country. Suppose your passport expires during your travels, then you cannot return home until you receive an emergency travel document. To avoid this from happening, countries began imposing the โ€œsix/three-month passport validityโ€ rule.

Can one Travel If their Passport Expires in Less Than Six Months? - In normal circumstances, you canโ€™t travel with a passport that expires in less than six months. However, a country with an active agreement with your destination country may allow it. You may even enter with an expired passport in some countries as long as you still have the document with you.

Could one Be Denied Entry Abroad If their Passport Expires Soon? - Yes, you will be denied entry abroad if your passport is about to expire. Additionally, if you need a visa, you wonโ€™t receive one with a valid passport of less than six (sometimes three) months. For this reason, you have to make sure that your passport is up-to-date before you travel. If itโ€™s not, apply for a renewal at your local authority or immigration at least a month before.

What If your Passport Expires Abroad? - If your passport expires while you are abroad, contact the embassy or consulate of your country and apply for an emergency Temporary Travel Document. You must remember that most travel emergency documents are valid only until you re-enter your home country; afterwards, you must apply for a new passport. Remember: You cannot leave for your country of residence with an expired passport- wait for the embassy/consulate to help you.

ALWAYS make sure to check your passport expiration months in advance to make sure you have adequate time to renew! Take the time now, to check your passport date! Then let's plan a trip!

๐ŸšTravel Tip Tuesday - Journey Management (Planning your journeys before & during your travels this festive season)๐Ÿš

The festive season is here, and many of us will be on the roads travelling to different destinations. Are you ready for that Road Trip? Is your driver ready for that Safari? Are your customers ready for that safari? How do you know and what does it take to be ready? At World-Trotters, the safety and comfort of our customers is very vital; and we will work/partner with the best brands to ensure our customers travel SAFE!!!

Good Journey Management is all about defensive driving skills, preparation (of your drivers and vehicles) and attitude. The ability to respect traffic laws, to be alert at all times, to be patient and courteous to other drivers, to use correct judgement and most importantly, to drive defensively! If you can do all this, you are already a good journey manager.

As a Certified Logistics & Transport specialist, my 12 years so far working in different fields; the Oil & Gas Industry mostly, I have been taught one important thing - SAFETY FIRST!!! There is not any one moment that I let my drivers depart with personnel or cargo without a Journey Management Plan and a SAFETY briefing (A Tool Box Talk). Tool box/Safety briefings are informal group discussions that focus on a particular safety issue. They enable us to remind and up-skill drivers prepare for an upcoming journey and to better manage challenges on the roads. This has always been a company/business culture. If we didn't carry it out physically, we would do the talk on phone. At World-Trotters, we have applied the same culture.

So, how do you prepare for that Road trip or plan your journeys?

1. Get your vehicle road ready - Perform regular maintenance checks like oil changes, brakes, lights, engines, battery and tire pressure checks. If youโ€™re not sure what to do, have a qualified technician inspect your vehicle. Make sure you or your driver and the vehicle are ready for the road.

2. Get your driver road ready - Is your driver well rested? in good health? is your driver well facilitated? Have your checked their documentation like valid driving permit, valid passport, valid certificate of vehicle insurance (Third-Party). Is your driver sober, well rested, in perfect health? Is the vehicle in good mechanical condition?). These are all very vital.

3. Focus on the road - Encourage your drivers to be aware of the conditions around them (to Watch out for other road users, road construction sites, road signs, extreme weather conditions i.e. heavy rain, snow, fog etc).

4. Eliminate distractions (Emphasize to your drivers the dangers of talking on the phone, eating on wheels, grooming self while driving.

5. Prepare your drivers emotionally and physically. (An angry, anxious, fearful, fatigued or stressed driver is a Red Flag on the roads. Say NO to road rage! Say NO to fatigued driving! Say YES to calm, relaxed, rested and alert driving).

6. Plan an escape Route - When climbing up or rolling down the highway, especially in heavy traffic, always plan an โ€˜escape routeโ€™. You do this by keeping a safe distance from the vehicle ahead of you.

7. Keep an emergency kit in your car. Especially before you head out on a road trip, prepare for the unexpected by keeping these items on board: Cellphone and car charger, First aid kit, Flashlight, Flares, Jumper cables, Candles and matches, Non-perishable food items, Water, Blankets, Personal safety awareness (masks, sanitizers, medicines, personal effects, Vital documentation (Passport, National I.Ds, Vaccination cards etc).

8. ALWAYS, ALWAYS use your best common sense and correct judgement.

You, and the people that you move are very important. Please plan your journeys and stay safe on the roads. Always REMEMBER, SAFETY FIRST!!!

โœˆ๏ธTravel Tip Tuesday - Travel In Style This Festive Season.โœˆ๏ธ

Imagine having to open your luggage bag at the Airport, Port or border security checkpoint and everything just spills out of your bag, making an epic mess! You donโ€™t want that! As much as carrying all necessities is important, organizing your luggage for convenience and space will take some burden off your shoulders while traveling.

Today, we'll share some vital tips to consider when it comes to packing and choosing the right travel luggage bags this festive season:

Use packing cubes - Never underestimate how much packing cubes can improve your travels. They help with organization, are space savers, and can even keep your clothes and items neater. Packing cubes are relatively cheap and help you keep all your items together while traveling. A packing cube is a small bag designed to organize clothes and items inside the main luggage bag, as well as to compress clothing to ensure maximum use of space. Packing cubes, especially color-coded ones allow you to separate your clothes by type (e.g. beach items in one cube, casual wear in another and business wear in the next) so you know where everything is, which makes packing, unpacking, and repacking quicker and easier.

Travel light - While you should always make sure that you have something for hot weather, warm weather, cold weather, and rain, remember not to go overboard. Having luggage that is too heavy can make getting around miserable (especially in buildings or places with no elevators!).

Keep your possessions safe - There are many different ways you can keep your possessions safe. You can use a lock on your luggage bag or suitcase to deter baggage thieves. Remember to always bring your important possessions (electronics, jewelry, vital documents, banking cards and cash etc.) with you in your carry-on bag. If youโ€™re at your accommodation and youโ€™re still not at ease, keep your possessions in your room safe. Most accommodations often have lockers but you will need to provide your own lock.

Packing too much, too little, or simply setting off with a disorganized suitcase can all negatively affect your tour and travel experience. Packing appropriately and in the right luggage bag or suitcase will simplify your trip and set you off for a fun and stress free travel experience this season.๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ

If you're looking for high quality, classy and top notch travel & luggage bags, plus suitcases, look no further than Mwizaa Store.
