Last week we had a field visit activity with fellow partners from East and Southern Africa to have a look at our Handcraft project under our Livelihood Program.
This was in Bunyangabu District where we have transformed 5 VSLAs that we formed 2 years ago from 5 villages into a SACCO now. This is going to empower our local artisans by providing them with business skills, and fair trade market access. By transforming traditional skills into sustainable incomes. We help our people mostly women to achieve financial independence and improve the well being of their families. Empowering one woman transforms an entire community. Through our Livelihood Program, we are equipping talented women in Bunyangabu with the business skills, resources, and market connections they need to thrive. Every handcrafted piece represents financial
independence, education for their children, and hope for the future.

Day 2

It’s just getting started! The second day at the Vibrant Village Foundation (VVF) partner forum held in Fort Portal Tourism city involved presentations from industry and experts from across Southern and Eastern Africa who discussed the path towards growth & scale. It was thrilling to appreciate the diffent cycles involved in organizational development and related activities. It was also great to learn that at the rebirth stage, institutions need to learn from past experiences and re-define their objectives to navigate the ever evolving landscape in which they operate.

Today, we were inspired by a presentation from one of our visiting partners on Social Enterprises exploring how sustainable, community-driven business models can create lasting impact for vulnerable families . From skills development to economic empowerment, these approaches are key to breaking cycles of poverty and strengthening family safety nets.

Together, we are building a future where every child grows up protected, empowered, and full of hope.

The ADCSAP team is excited to host the Vibrant Village Foundation (VVF) partners from Eastern and Southern African countries including Malawi, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda at Nyaika Hotel, Fort Portal Tourism City.

This five day gathering is a powerful testament to our shared commitment to unlocking the potential of families and local communities to lead their own development and thrive . By bringing together partners and advocates, we are strengthening the social service workforce and fostering cross-sectoral partnerships to protect the most vulnerable among us .

Fort Portal the gateway to Uganda’s adventures and home to the Tooro Kingdom offers a welcoming and vibrant backdrop for these critical discussions . As our teams work to fight poverty, promote quality education, and advocate for child protection, we are inspired by the collaborative spirit that transcends borders .

Together, we are building a safer future for every child in Africa. 🤝💚

This week, the ADCSAP team had the pleasure of attending an informative webinar hosted by the Mortenson Family Foundation, representing our organization, which serves as an Advocacy Center for Child & Family Safety & Protection (ADCSAP) in Uganda.
The event served as an effective indicator of the global commitment to protecting children at risk and bolstering families. Important lessons that struck a deep resonance with ADCSAP's objectives include:

*Innovative, Community-Based Methods*: The foundation placed a strong emphasis on developing adaptive, community-driven support networks rather than just reactive ones. This is harmonious with our efforts to strengthen local systems in order to prevent adverse effects and enhance well-being.

*Data-Driven Advocacy*: The fundamental relevance of data and research in designing effective policies and programs was reiterated. It reaffirmed our dedication to using scientifically supported advocacy to bring about substantial transformation in Uganda.

*Mutually beneficial Alliances*: The live session emphasized that this venture cannot be completed by a single entity. Thus, developing robust networks is crucial for enhancing effectiveness and pooling resources, as demonstrated by our collaboration with ADCSAP.

Attending this webinar was both educational and reassuring, especially from the Mortenson Family Foundation’s commitment to supporting institutions that share a similar vision. The discussion further offered insightful perspectives and concepts that we could adapt and integrate to fit Ugandan reality. It makes us more determined to keep pushing for strong child protection laws, family assistance, and secure spaces for all children.

We are thrilled to incorporate the ideas raised into our continuing work and thank the Mortenson Family Foundation for allowing the discussion to take place. We must work together to safeguard families and ensure the safety of children. Let's keep learning, working together, and advocating.
