🇨🇳🤝🇺🇦 Connection Across Decades: 1950s Student from China Visits Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute!
History came to life at our campus this week! On April 28, 2026, we had the honor of welcoming a very special guest — Mr. Wang Guangqi, who first entered the gates of our University back in 1955 as a student of the Faculty of Heat Power Engineering.
✨ After seven decades and thousands of kilometers, Mr. Wang Guangqi returned to his Alma Mater. He was welcomed by Vice-Rector Andriy Shysholin, CIE Director Iryna Prykhodko, and the current generation of Chinese students who are now following in his footsteps.
🏠 During his campus tour, Mr. Wang Guangqi was moved to see how KPI preserves its majestic architectural heritage while evolving into a world-class research hub.
"KPI is not just a university; it is a part of my life. I am happy to see how it grows and looks confidently into the future, preserving the soul I remember from my youth," he shared.
🎓 For our current international students, meeting Mr. Wang Guangqi was a powerful reminder of how strong the bonds formed within these walls can be. We shared updates on our latest innovations, new educational programs, and the university's global achievements.
This visit proves once again: for true friendship and the KPI community, neither borders nor time exist. 🌍✨
International students of National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” took part in a vibrant cultural event — the charity concert “Artistic Spring,” held at the KPI Center of Culture and Arts.
This spring evening became a true discovery of Ukrainian culture for students from around the world. Guests enjoyed a diverse program that combined various genres and styles: energetic contemporary dances, traditional folk motifs in original interpretations, and vocal performances by the university’s most talented artists. The atmosphere of the event was filled with warmth, creativity, and genuine emotions.
For international students, it was not only an opportunity to get closer to Ukrainian traditions but also to feel the unity of the university community. The event held special significance due to its charitable purpose — supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which brought everyone together in a shared desire to help the defenders.
“Artistic Spring” once again proved that culture knows no borders, and art has the power to unite people of different nationalities around important values — support, mutual understanding, and inspiration.
A sunny spring day, filled with the fragrance of blossoms and warm smiles, became truly special for our international community 🌸
The Director of the Center for International Education, together with international students, set out for a leisurely walk around the university campus, now in full bloom. Flower-lined alleys, cozy corners for conversation, and majestic academic buildings created the perfect atmosphere for acquaintance, meaningful exchange, and cultural dialogue.
This gathering was more than just a tour — it turned into a heartfelt conversation without borders. Students shared their impressions of studying, discovered Ukrainian traditions, and felt themselves part of a big university family.
In moments like these, you truly feel that a university is not only about knowledge, but also about friendship, support, and shared values. Spring inspires, unites, and подарує memories that will stay with us for a long time 💛
