Simbas Footprints has a Community-Led approach to development. This is why in 2017 Simbas began shifting its leadership back to our local team.

Simbas Footprints Foundation is a registered Tanzania NGO serving over 4000 children and women in Kilimanjaro through education and economic empowerment initiatives. Simbas Footprints Foundation recognizes that locally-led organizations are more sustainable because the solution is driven by the members of the community that the organization is trying to serve. Now, idea’s for expansion, programmi

Every donation, no matter the size, is helping create brighter futures for children and youth in our community. 💙

As we approach the end of June, we want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has already contributed to our campaign. Your generosity is making a real difference and bringing us closer to our goal.

If you haven’t had a chance to support yet, there’s still time. Together, we can ensure more children and young people have access to education, opportunities, and the support they need to thrive.

At Simbas Footprints Foundation, we believe that lasting change happens through collaboration.

We were honored to welcome the team from from Uganda to Tanzania for a meaningful exchange of ideas, experiences, and learning. The visit provided a wonderful opportunity to showcase our work, learn more about theirs, and explore how organizations across East Africa can work together to create greater impact in our communities.

As one of our core values, collaboration continues to guide how we build partnerships, strengthen local leadership, and amplify positive change. We are grateful for the inspiring conversations and connections made during this visit and look forward to the opportunities ahead.

Together, we can achieve more than any of us could alone.

Today, we proudly join the rest of Africa in celebrating the Day of the African Child.

Over the week, Simbas Footprints Foundation has collaborated with fellow NGOs, community members, schools, and government partners across Kilimanjaro to organize activities that educate, inspire, and empower children. Through awareness sessions, games, creative activities, and discussions on children’s rights, we have created spaces where children can learn, be heard, and thrive.

As we celebrate, we are reminded that every child deserves protection, quality education, opportunities to grow, and a voice in shaping their future.

Together, let us continue building communities where children are safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Happy Day of the African Child! 🌍❤️

🎓 Meet Amina.

Amina first joined Simbas Footprints through our community programs and, with educational sponsorship support, is now pursuing her bachelor’s degree. Her journey is a powerful reminder of what happens when a child is given the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream beyond their circumstances.

This June, we are raising support for 66 children to access education and stay in school. Every contribution helps provide school fees, learning materials, and the support they need to continue their education.

Join us in investing in the future of these young learners.

Donate today through our website and help change a life. ❤️📚

Last week, We celebrated the graduation of the 15th cohort of women from our Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Program.

Over the past six months, these remarkable women have dedicated themselves to intensive learning and personal growth, gaining valuable skills in financial literacy, computer training, tailoring, soap making, and batik production. Through this journey, they have built the knowledge, confidence, and practical experience needed to create sustainable pathways toward economic independence and brighter futures.

Simbas believe that when women are equipped with skills and opportunities, they become powerful agents of change in their families and communities.

Congratulations to all our graduates. Your determination and hard work inspire us, and we look forward to seeing the impact you will create in the world.

As we marked International Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, our team engaged students across partner schools in Moshi through menstrual health education, awareness, and open conversations that promote dignity and wellbeing.

Together, we are creating informed, supportive communities where every young person can thrive.

Simbas believe every child deserves access to quality education and the digital skills needed for the future. Through our partnership with STAWI and ACCT, we are proud to continue supporting the establishment and strengthening of computer labs in public schools across Moshi.

Last week we participated in conducting a training helping teachers gain ICT knowledge and practical skills at an important time, especially as the Tanzanian education curriculum continues to integrate ICT into learning. Seeing schools embrace technology and students gain access to computer education is both exciting and impactful for our community.

We are deeply grateful to STAWI for providing resources and support toward improving technology access in schools, and to ACCT for helping with installation and training implementation. It was also incredible to witness a new computer lab launched at Mwenge Primary school this week.
Simbas remain committed to working hand in hand with schools, government stakeholders, and partners to strengthen education and create lasting impact.
