Mbalamwezi festival recap
07/12/2023
Public notice:
IMPORTANT NOTICE – CHANGE OF VENUE
Dear community, hope everyone is doing well.
After some careful consideration and monitoring of road conditions and current/ predicted weather, we are moving the Mbalamwezi event into Moshi town. The final bridge near MiWaLeNi is in bad shape and there is more rain predicted this weekend. A vendor driving a Noah got stuck in the rough, eroded spot yesterday and had to be pulled out with a land cruiser. The alternate roads to MiWaLeNi also aren’t a great option.
We are moving the event to the White House, near St. Margaret’s church in town and keep it to Saturday/ Sunday and remove the camping component, sadly. It's centrally located in Moshi, with beautiful grounds there that we can transform to accommodate the Mbalamwezi Vibes. More changes to be clarified, but we can keep many of the same elements. Of course, the irreplaceable magic of MiWaLeNi is a core element of the event, so it’s really sad. But we need to priortize safety first and this seems like the best option at this time. We’ll be back in the bush soon.
We hope you can still join us on Saturday and Sunday at White House. We are working hard to adjust the plans to still make the event as beautiful as possible and will be communicating updates to the weekend schedule as soon as possible. We are also restructuring our ticket prices and will refund any advance payments in full. If you were planning to camp and still want a place to stay, we will be sure to help find comfortable accommodation for you in Moshi. Any other thoughts/ feedback are welcome.
