Singo is prepared from fresh jasmine, ylang ylang flowers, rose petals, mpatchori (not patchouli) mpompia (geranium), sweet basil and liwa (sandalwood) ground together in a “Kinu” (pestle mortar) with a little rosewater. After qualifying in the U.K and working there in the same field I have been 'practising my craft' as it were for 12 years here and on the mainland (I am based in Zanzibar now for 5 years) and imparting my knowledge and Advice on the Sector to girls that I train of which we have huge potential both here and on the mainland and it is extremely gratifying when for instance a Lemon staff member is embued with such enthusiasm and goes through training to eventually a managerial position or just reaches a higher level and enjoys her work and benefits from both the experience and of course the financial aspect as well.
