With the right resources, people can succeed!

The Numbers Foundation has expanded its outreach in the Usa River region of Arusha, Tanzania to impact more students and their educational endeavors. The organization has been in operation since 2019, and the work they are doing to improve students habits and attitudes toward learning mathematics and school in general are commendable. With their small team of volunteers and tireless efforts to get into six schools to facilitate learning with students in Form Four, the Give Back With Maths program is seeing great improvements.

A barrier to their success is resources...student resources. Students at the schools do not have access to calculators. Imagine being a student taking a mathematics examination that requires a calculator to complete the questions...but you have no calculator. What are the odds that you will succeed? Without the right tools, we cannot perform to the best of our abilities. Our aim is to not only provide calculators for the students at the schools but also to provide books as resources for both teachers and students. This one step will lead to meaningful and lasting change, helping students develop confidence in their abilities with mathematics and beyond.

Our Ask:

Non-programmable scientific calculators are a total of $20 per calculator. Currently, each school has 10, and we are fundraising so that each school can have 100 (a total of 600) to support their students. Total needed: $12,000

Textbook Support and Teaching Manuals are between $5-$9. We need 12 teaching manuals and at least 100 textbooks. Total needed: $608

Any amount helps in the biggest way, and all money goes directly toward providing these specific resources to the schools. Thank you in advance for your support!
