The Secretary bird.
Its latin name ‘Sagittarius serpentarius’ means ‘the archer of snakes’. With is big wings acting as a distraction the bird is able to swat and pin down snakes with their long scaly legs, which also prevents them from getting bitten. Though their legs seem skinny they are know to have ome of the strongest kick in the animal kingdom, being able to generate 5-6 times their bodyweight in force. 💨

are successful in hunting AND scavenging. They can travel over 60km a night, in search of food if need be. They prey on the young of wildebeest, Kudu, but also opportunistic and could take down almost any mammal, bird, reptiles and even fish, vegetable matter, carrion and sometimes garbage.
