Physical quantities can be either scalars (which have magnitude only) or vectors (which have both magnitude and direction). A vector quantity comprises of both horizontal and vertical components, and is therefore the sum of two constituent perpendicular vectors

Transfer of thermal energy: conduction, convection and radiation.

Boyle’s Law: at constant temperature, the product of pressure and volume is constant.

Direct currents flow in only one direction and are represented on an I-t graph as having only positive polarity. On the other hand, the direction of flow of AC currents reverses, and are represented graphically as having both positive and negative polarities.

Only a fraction of marks is awarded for getting the final answer correct. Understanding mark schemes allow students to be aware of what examiners expect.
Examples: using a large triangle to determine the gradient of a graph, stating the assumptions made in given situation and substituting values correctly into a formula.

Some CSEC questions are extremely rare and this is one of them: last seen 10 years ago.
