My friend shared this important insight!!

In Genesis 19, when the angels of God were telling Lot to flee to the mountains before S***m and Gomorrah were destroyed, Lot saw that he found favor with God in that time. As a result, he felt like he can ask if he can flee to the neighbouring town in the valley instead as he thought he would not be able to make it to the mountains on time. He got what he asked for and that town (Zoar meaning small) was spared.

Lot was protected because Abraham stood in the gap for him, and prayed that God spare his life. As a result, Lot had favor with God and that little town Zoar was also spared. Too often, we feel as though our requests are too big. But nothing is too big for our God and he loves us. He cares about our heart’s desires as long as it’s in alignment to his word. Maybe Lot was scared and would have actually made it to the mountains. Or maybe God just wanted Lot to open his mouth and him ask.

God just wants us to ask. He wants us to seek him. In the midst of chaos and violence, he is our protector and shield. In the midst of impossible salvation, salvation is possible. In the midst of heartache, he is the healer of brokenness. In the midst of addiction, he is our strength and discipline. In the midst of the storms, he is our calm. In the midst of death and destruction, he is life. In the midst of poverty and need, he is our provider. He is everything, he wants us to ask and quite often, he uses the small things, so don’t miss it. 🙏🏼❤️
