I was excited to work on this one because I knew exactly the direction I wanted to take him. I thought sculpting him in 3D would be pretty straightforward, but it ended up pushing me more than I expected.
I usually lean toward a more realistic style, whether I’m sculpting physically or digitally, so this project challenged me to step outside of my usual approach.
It took longer than expected, but I’m really happy with how he turned out.

Experimenting with hand-forging.
Hand-forging is the process of shaping metal by heat, force, and hand skill. Instead of the steel staying as a plain straight bar, it can be twisted, bent, curled, textured, and built into something with movement.
