On Saturday 3rd October 2026, the National Trust visited Mundo Nuevo, with stops at:

Visitors enjoyed chocolate-making, w**e and sampling experiences, and explored local heritage.

๐ƒ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐‡๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐’๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐„๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐‹๐จ๐ฌ ๐€๐ญ๐ญ๐š๐ฃ๐จ๐ฌ, we received the sad news of the ๐ฉ๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐œ๐š๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ฌ๐จ ๐ข๐œ๐จ๐ง ๐’๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ซ ๐…๐ซ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ข๐ฌ๐œ๐จ, ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐Œ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฒ ๐’๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ, at age 91.

Our event was dedicated to capturing and celebrating heritage before it is lost. It felt fitting, in that moment, to honour a master storyteller whose music carried calypso from Trinidad and Tobago to the world.

In this video, Los Parranderos Amigos pay tribute to The Mighty Sparrow. We thank them for helping us remember his music and his extraordinary contribution to our culture.

๐Ÿ—ฃ Stories of '๐๐š๐œ๐ค ๐ข๐ง ๐ƒ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ' came alive at the ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐‡๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐’๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐„๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐‹๐จ๐ฌ ๐€๐ญ๐ญ๐š๐ฃ๐จ๐ฌโ€ผ

Elders Henry Awong, Kenneth Awong and Michael Chandree shared memories of encounters with La Diablesse and Douens, growing up without electricity, and the traditional meals once cooked in their homes. Their stories gave us a glimpse into everyday life in earlier times and the traditions that continue to connect our community.

Multiple reports are coming in that La Diablesse was spotted lurking in Los Attajos. Her cowfoot dragged and tapped the road beneath the full moon light.

Cocoa Panyol Museum assisted - they walked with green lines, salt and rice.....just in case soucouyant appeared.
