The Center for Refugee Rights Turkey is a rights-based NGO based in Istanbul that provides legal information and assistance services to asylum seekers; organizes trainings and generates reference materials for lawyers and others to strenghten legal aid provision for asylum seekers; works to nurture public ownership and positive attitudes towards protection seekers; publishes reports and recommendations on protection gaps; and advocates for improvements in Turkey’s asylum legislation and policies in line with international standards and good practices. Registered as an association under Turkish law in September 2014, the Center constitutes the new organizational framework for the continuation of well-recognized legal aid, asylum advocacy and capacity-building activities carried by HCA-RASP (Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly – Refugee Advocacy and Support Program) since 2005.
