Kaçkar Dağı eteklerinde kurulan Köyün eski adı(hevek) yeni adı ise yaylalar köyü, Köy ortalama 2000 rakımda Dağcıların ve turistlerin Kackar Güney Rotası üzerinde. Buradan yukarı Kavrun’ ve Ayder yaylasınada trans yapmakta mümkün, Dilberdüzü ve büyük deniz gölü de bu güzergah üzerinde. Dilberdüzü ortalama 10 km, Olup, Ana kamp alanından ise klasik Kaçkar zirve Güney rotası gidiş ve dönüş 12 km. Dilberdüzü kamp alanından Zirve çıkış irtifası ise 1080 metre. Ayrıca kışın tur kayağı ve Dünyanın sınırlı bölgelerinde yapılabilen heliski sporu da bu vadilerde yapılmaktadır.
