Terminator Telescopic Contact Lens.

Have you ever desired to have vision that could zoom in and out, like the Terminator? Well now maybe soon you can.

A team is working on a telescopic contact lens that is just over a millimeter thick. The lens is surrounded by a ring of movable components that magnify view by 2.8 times. As of yet, it is not able to compute the facial structure of what is being looked at but liquid crystal shutters allow the wearer to switch between normal and magnified vision.

The contact lens was developed at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland and at the University of California, San Diego by Eric Tremblay and his colleagues. The research and development for the project has been funded by DARPA.

Nokia FIT. Concept is designed by Issam Trabelsi which avoids exposing ears along the day to the continuous Bluetooth radiations and reduces the excessive use of the hand-phone devices by fixing an optimized flexibility rubber coated device on finger, as a ring, this device is ergonomic because every part of it is fixed on separate phalanx. The first part integrates ergonomically and smoothly the speaker and the call acceptation switch, it is fixed on the distal phalanx. The second part fixed on the middle phalanx integrates the vibration mechanism, missed calls and unread messages LED indicators and the battery. And the third part is fixed on the proximal phalanx and integrates the call cancel switch with the microphone. This device works via Bluetooth as nowadays earphone, we use it simply like we use hand-phones.

Technology is being used more and more around the house, simplifying our lives and decorating our rooms. Many people invest in the latest trends in technology either because they want to have the most useful stuff around, or because they want to follow the latest trends. It’s time to have a look at the future gadgets for the home of 2050!

Smart fridge. Regular fridges will be long outdated by 2050 and the new trend will be, of course, smart fridges. This predicted type of smart fridge is going to have a door that, when it’s closed, transforms into a touch screen. And what can you do with it, you may ask? Well, the smart fridge can evaluate the ingredients you have in it and suggest you recipes based on them, can dictate you the recipe while you’re cooking and can show you how much food you have left.
Community laundry. Designed with the purpose of saving energy and water, a communal laundry washer for an entire block of flats, for instance, is much more economic. Not only that it uses smartly the resources, but it also saves you time, since you can bring in your dirty clothes and come back for clean ones.
Gel fridge. Yes, we already talked about the smart fridge, but this is a whole other level! If you talk about future gadgets you have to know about the biopolymer gel. The fridge cools the gel by using luminescence and you simply have to introduce individually every piece of food in the gel and it will be perfectly stored at the right temperature.
Clothing printer. Shopping becomes easy nowadays by online shopping, but what if you had your own clothing printer in your own home? Among the future gadgets that are predicted to appear by 2050 you can find this printer that allows you to choose the material, design the cut and the size and that’s it, you can be your own fashion designer.
Modular kitchen. The modular furniture will be more and more successful by 2050 because they respect the modern principle of flexibility. Future gadgets are meant to help you use smartly your kitchen space and to rethink it every time you add something or decide to get rid of some piece of furniture.
Wall panels for air purification. Future gadgets will bring us fresh air into the house without too much effort on our part. The air is purified through panels mounted on the walls in every room. The larger the room, the more the panels you will need to install, but it saves you the time and energy wasted on humidifiers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners and many more.
Individual cleaning units. Small cleaning units that will roam your T-shirt or your blouse and will clean it instantly . Of course, this does not replace a washing machine or the collective laundry washer we saw before.
