VAT on real estate in Turkey
The rate of this tax is set at 18% for commercial properties, while the value-added tax rate for residential properties varies according to their area, regardless of their location.
As for residential properties, if the area of ​​the residential property does not exceed 150 square meters, the added tax rate is 8%, while the tax rate changes for residential properties that exceed this size, as their value increases by 20% for each additional meter.

Exemption from value-added tax on real estate in Turkey
For foreign investors seeking to benefit from the value added exemption on real estate, they must fulfill the following conditions:
1. Proof that the foreign investor has not previously resided in Turkey.
2. The foreign company does not have a headquarters in Turkey.
3. The investor must not have spent more than 6 months in Turkey during the year preceding the purchase of the property.
4. It is prohibited to sell the property benefiting from the value added exemption again within a period of one year.

Qatar’s investment in Türkiye has exceed $20 billion, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat has said, voicing expectation that the bilateral trade volume will increase further with the agreements the two countries signed recently.
To date, some 220 Qatari companies have undertaken important projects in Türkiye, while 727 Turkish companies are doing business in Qatar, said Bolat, speaking at the launch of the Trade Delegation program in Doha.

“With the coordination of our Ministry and the organization of the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM), we brought together 60 exporters who represented our country in the Trade Delegation program held in Qatar,” the minister said.

The Trade Delegation program will pave the way for new business connections between the countries, further increase mutual investments in various sectors, and contribute to joint ventures between Turkish and Qatari companies in third countries, Bolat added.

The minister recalled that the two countries recently inked trade agreements, which, he said, will help boost bilateral investments and the trade volume from the current $2.3 billion.

Bolat also attended the opening of the Turkish pavilion at the EXPO 2023 Doha.

The United Arab Emirates and Turkey inked on Wednesday several deals estimated to be worth $50.7 billion during a visit by President Tayyip Erdogan to Abu Dhabi as he toured wealthy Gulf Arab nations for investment and funds.

Erdogan and UAE President Mohamed Bin Zayed attended the signing ceremony of the agreements that included , energy and natural resources development, space and defence cooperation, state news agency WAM reported.
