„Not our Oceans“ - OUT NOW!!!

I started this design (Front Print and Backprint) in December 2021 and have worked on it for the last 5 months every moment I found the time. It should stand as a reminder for us: That the Earth does not belong to us, the oceans do not belong to us and that we, as a species, should not have the audacity to dump our trash onto the heads of sea creatures - including Garblub 🦑 the Kraken.

The trash we throw away now ends up in our oceans someday. That‘ll make Garblub the Kraken veeery angry. Reduce your usage of unnecessary packaging and, very importantly, pick up your garbage! Plastic litter is the most common killer of animals, and marine animals are the most notably affected. Each year over 100,000 dolphins, fish, whales, turtles, and more drown after becoming entangled in or digesting plastic litter. Littering introduces both noxious biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste into the environment. Animals that roam around the regions of such dumpsites tend to feed on the materials, such as food wrappers, and ingest them. The same can happen when the trash finds its way into the water that the animals drink. Non-biodegradable trash has an adverse effect on animals because it can cause problems if ingested. The animals become unable to digest the materials, and they end up clogging the digestive tracts causing painful and slow deaths.

Aquatic animals are mostly affected as they feed on smaller microscopic foods such as krill, which means they have to swallow large amounts of seawater, which sometimes contains indigestible plastics or metals.

Because of air and water temperature warming and microplastics, seasonal shifts in species, coral bleaching, sea level rise, coastal inundation, coastal erosion, harmful algal blooms, hypoxic (or dead) zones, new marine diseases, loss of marine mammals, changes in levels of precipitation, and fishery declines are already happening. In addition, we can expect in the near future more extreme weather events (droughts, floods, storms), which affect habitats and species alike.
