In the middle of ruins, they sit and wait.

They don’t know about borders, politics, or the reasons people fight. They don’t understand war, destruction, or why the world suddenly became loud and frightening.

All they know is that someone they love is gone… and they are still waiting.

Animals don’t choose wars. They don’t create them. Yet they suffer the silence that follows.

Sometimes the most heartbreaking victims of war are the ones who never understood it in the first place.
