This morning Bangkok Photo Rambles (Jeremiah Boulware and John Stiles) met up in Minburi District to take various shots of Bangkok's (and all of Thailand's) ubiquitous mode of family transport, the motorcycle. Many riders are careful (wearing helmets and following traffic rules), while others challenge death by ignoring traffic regulations. Thailand has one of the world's highest motorcycle accident and motorcycle death rates. We do see more drivers and riders wearing helmets, which are required by law, but...

Set #1: BPR traveled to the twin temples Wat Bang Peng Tai and Wat Bampen Nua in Minburi to witness the annual Buddhist celebration Makha Bucha. The temples were alive with music, candles, games, food vendors, lucky drawings, monk blessings, and the requisite clockwise circling of the temples, all in a swirl of incense smoke. We will post a few photos each day for the next week. We hope you enjoy our images.
