ส่วนการตอบว่ายินดีที่รู้จักเช่นกัน สามารถสร้างประโยคง่ายๆโดยการเพิ่ม too ไปท้ายประโยค เช่น Nice to meet you too หรือ It’s a pleasure to meet you too.

Good morning สวัสดีตอนเช้า, Good afternoon สวัสดีตอนบ่าย หรือ Good evening สวัสดีตอนเย็นจนถึงกลางคืน เป็นคำทักทายที่เป็นทางการโดยทั่วไป เราสามารถทำให้คำทักทายนี้ดูเป็นกันเองมากขึ้นโดยใช้แค่คำว่า Morning, Afternoon หรือ Evening สั้นได้เช่นกัน และคำทักทายที่สามารถใช้ได้อย่างเป็นกันเองโดยไม่บ่งเวลา ได้แก่คำว่า Hello หรือ Hi และคำตอบรับคำทักทายนี้มักจะตอบรับเป็นการซ้ำคำทักทายนั้น ๆ กลับไป
How are you? คุณสบายดีไหม เป็นการถามทุกข์สุขโดยทั่วไป เราสามารถใช้ประโยคว่า How’s it going? หรือ How are you doing? ได้เช่นกัน ซึ่งการตอบรับมักจะใช้ว่า It’s going well. หรือ I’m doing well. และสำหรับสำนวน What’s up?, What’s new? หรือ What’s going on? เป็นสำนวนทักทายที่ใช้ในหมู่คนที่สนิทสนมกัน และการตอบรับมักจะใช้ Nothing หรือ Not much ซึ่งเป็นคำตอบทั่วไปที่หมายถึงไม่ได้มีอะไรใหม่ ๆ ในชีวิตนัก แต่ถ้าในชีวิตช่วงนั้นมีอะไรน่าสนใจก็สามารถเพิ่มเติมต่อไปได้
It’s nice to meet you. หรือ It’s a pleasure to meet you. ยินดีที่ได้คุณ เป็นการแสดงมารยาทในการพบกันครั้งแรก และถ้าพบกันในครั้งต่อ ๆ ไป สามารถเติมคำว่า again ไปท้ายประโยคได้ เช่น Nice to meet you again. ยินดีที่ได้พบคุณอีก
Good bye. หรือ Bye ลาก่อน เป็นคำบอกลาที่เราท่านคุ้นเคยกันดี แต่เราสามารถเติม See you later. หรือ See you again. แล้วพบกันใหม่ หรืออาจเป็นคำอวยพรให้คู่สนทนาก่อนจากกันได้ เช่น Have a nice day. หรือ Have a good day. ขอให้เป็นวันดี ๆ นะ ก็ได้เช่นกัน
