Noi is doing well in her class with group activities. She is now in 3rd year. One more year to become an English teacher! ☺️

On Sunday April 20th, Philanthropy Connections team, our partner, had a nice catch up meeting with 2 of our students in Chiangmai, Mol and Piyawat.
Mol, as lively as always, has shared with us that she just finished her freshmen year at university. During school breaks, she stays with her mother in Saraphi, Chiang Mai, and returns to the university when it reopens in a coming month.
Piyawat has already graduated with Vocational Certificate and will pursue his further study in Bachelor degree next month in the same institute. Currently, Piyawat is working part-time at a car garage where he previously completed his internship. He plans to study in the evening classes so that he can work during the day.

Also ‘our’ students in Thailand struggled during the pandemic. But with our scholarship they are committed to persevere, all our students are going steady!

During the time where Thailand still had limited vaccines availability in 2021, students had to study from home.
A view from our student, Sumalee said:
"I tried my best to understand the teacher in online classes, and I turned in all homework. However, I think it is quite limited in terms of class interaction, whereas it might not be as fully fun as going to the actual class. Also, the internet connection sometimes is not good, so my learning was interrupted. However, I always get back to the teacher to cover up what missing for me. Online studying is also not so friendly with my back and eyes. I have to stop and take more rests during online studying....."

In 2022 it is getting better. Schools start to reopen again, vaccinated students have the choice whether to come to class, or join online. We hope things will get better and better everyday.
