VCON ภูมิใจที่ได้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการลมหายใจ Tranquil บางนา Luxury Townhome บ้านที่ออกแบบมาเหมือนงานศิลปะโดยใช้ผนัง Precast concrete facade ทั้งด้านในและนอกอาคาร ที่ทางผู้ออกแบบร่วมพัฒนากับวีคอน จนได้ออกมาเป็นผนังลาย Terrazzo สีเทาเข้ม มีลวดลายที่สร้างมิติที่แตกต่างกันไปในแต่ละช่วงเวลาของวัน และเข้ากับวัสดุภายในอาคารอย่างลงตัว

VCON was awarded a precast concrete contract for the One City Center project located in downtown Bangkok. The project is the tallest grade A office building in Bangkok with 130 meters long biophilic urban space design integrated with lifestyle retail outlets. At 61 stories, One City Center is the latest addition to the Bangkok skyline and the tallest office building in Thailand. One City Center is developed by Raimond Land and Mitsubishi Estate.

Benjakitti Park Expansion Project

The new, updated Benjakitti Park extends over an area of 102 acres that originally was home to a tobacco manufacturing facility. The urban project will provide a new ecosystem that supports the quality of life in the city. The project utilized VCON hollow core slabs for the two kilometer long skywalk and running trails.

The park is now brighter, greener and more accessible, with more grassy space and rain gardens.

ผู้ออกแบบหลายท่านคงเคยได้ยินชื่อสถาปนิกชื่อดังยุค Brutalism คุณ Paul Rudolph ต้นแบบของผนังคอนกรีตหินสกัดหรือ Bush-hammered concrete โดยอาคารที่เป็นไอคอนิคของผิวแบบนี้คือ Art and Architecture Building of the Yale University การแบบออกแบบอาคารสมัย Brutalism จะนิยมออกแบบเป็นคอนกรีตเปลือยหลายแบบ เช่น หินล้าง บอร์ดฟอร์ม แต่ผิวหน้าที่เรียกได้ว่างดงาม ใช้แรงงานเยอะที่สุดคือผิว Bush-hammered ทำให้พบเห็นผิวแบบนี้ได้กับเฉพาะอาคารสำคัญๆในประเทศที่พัฒนาแล้ว อาคารในภาพจวบจนปัจจุบันยังคงสภาพเดิม ไม่มีการ renovate เพราะยังคงสวยงามคลาสสิก เปรียบเสมือนงานฝีมือขั้นสูงสมัยโบราณ ที่ถ้าหากจะสร้างอาคารเหมือนกันๆสมัยนี้ค่าแรงงานฝีมือจะสูงมากจนไม่สามารถทำได้

ผู้ก่อตั้ง VCON ได้มีโอกาสไปเที่ยว Hawaii เมื่อสี่สิบกว่าปีที่แล้ว ได้ไปเห็นอาคาร Royal Hawaiian Center ที่ใช้พื้นผิวนี้และรู้สึกประทับใจอย่างมาก เพราะผนังแบบนี้เวลาโดนแสงแดดแล้วสวยมากจริงๆจึงเหมาะกับอาคารในเขตร้อน และได้คิดค้นวิธีทำให้เป็น Precast concrete ซึ่งได้ถูกนำไปใช้ที่อาคารเซ็นทรัลลาดพร้าวเป็นที่แรก จนปัจจุบัน VCON ได้พัฒนาเทคนิคการสกัดเป็นการใช้เครื่องจักรทั้งหมด ทำให้ผู้ออกแบบปัจจุบันนำไปใช้และยังควบคุมต้นทุนก่อสร้างได้ ทั้งยังประหยัดเวลาก่อสร้างไปได้อีกหลายเท่า และผู้ออกแบบยังสามารถผสมสีลงไปในคอนกรีตได้อีกด้วย

Bush-hammered concrete surfaces were introduced to brutalist architecture at the turn of the 1950s
and 1960s, e.g. the town hall in Asker in Norway (1961-1963) designed by Kjell Lund and Nils Slaato.
They were popular until the end of this style, e.g. buildings on the London Barbican Estate constructed
in the 1970s according to the project of Chamberlin, Powell and Bon. Particularly characteristic for
brutalism was the texture made by bush-hammering corrugated concrete. It was the most sophisticated
and labour-intensive technique, and at the same time the most distant from “as found” principle. Due to
high costs, it was used primarily in highly developed countries and in prestigious buildings. It is not
surprising that this texture was the most widespread in American brutalism. One should give here
examples of Paul Rudolph's buildings, including Art and Architecture Building of the Yale University
in New Haven constructed in the years 1958-1964
