Jungle and 2026 calf! 💚💚
Her calf has been very active on the Turks Bank, breaching, and getting stronger for the migration back up to the Gulf of Maine. Jungle is a repeat mom for us. We will be patiently waiting to hear of their return.

🔈Volume up! Did you know that only the male humpback whales sing? While they all sing the same song, the song itself changes slightly each season with new phrases added to their repertoire. This year’s definitely had some changes - we called this phrase ‘the seal’ for obvious reasons 😂 Being in the water with a singer is like nothing else as you feel the song vibrate through your chest. Definitely an experience to remember for a lifetime 🩵🎶🐋

Meet Mostaza's 2026 calf! 💛💛
Mostaza is a well-known Gulf of Maine feeder and a daughter of Salt, the ‘Grande Dame’ of Stellwagen Bank. Salt has played a very important role in the Gulf of Maine population and the long-term studies done by the Center for Coastal Studies, see Salt's family tree here https://coastalstudies.org/our-work/humpback-whale-research/gulf-of-maine/a-humpback-whale-named-salt/

Some moments stay with you forever… Anyone who has spent time with us during whale season understands the special bond our Captain Kell has with the whales. He manoeuvres the boat with care and precision, and his connection with the whales is unquestionable. Earlier this season he was able to get in the water with a mother and calf pair we had spent nearly two months with. It was a beautiful encounter to witness and one that will stay with us for a lifetime 🩵🐋

The Cyrano Waggle! We saw her ‘waggle’ a few years ago and it was so exciting to see her do it again yesterday! It’s been amazing to see her relax over the last weeks as her calf has grown 🩵🐋

At the end of a long, peaceful encounter watching this mother and calf rest in the shallows, the calf got the zoomies and surprised everyone with a breach! So much fun to witness!
