In a bold demonstration of unity, leadership and community action, The Deputy Prime Minister's Office Eswatini, in collaboration with Umhluma Women & Youth Foundation and the Nhlangano Town Council, led a powerful Town-to-Town Gender-Based Violence Campaign right in the heart of Nhlangano.
The campaign commenced with a symbolic march from Nhlangano Town Council to the bustling Nhlangano Bus Rank, a public declaration that Eswatini will not remain silent while Men, women, children and vulnerable communities continue to face abuse, violence and exploitation. πΆπΎββοΈπΆπΎββοΈποΈ
Civil society organisations, healthcare workers, peer educators, youth advocates and community leaders converged under one mission:

Restore Human Dignity
π CANGO News, through the HealthPlus 4 Men -Swaziland ( ) Project, proudly stood among the frontline responders during the campaign. The HealthPlus 4 Men -Swaziland Stall became a hub of hope, awareness and empowerment as peer educators actively referred community members for HIV prevention services provided through mobile clinics stationed at the event.
π©Ί The presence of the Cancer Screening Mobile Clinic further amplified the importance of integrated healthcare access, proving that community activism and healthcare delivery can move hand in hand.
The Ministry of Health Eswatini also addressed critical issues surrounding Gender-Based Violence, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), HIV prevention and community wellbeing, reinforcing the urgent need for collective action.
This was more than a campaign.
It was a movement.
A call to conscience.
A reminder that protecting lives begins with protecting human dignity. β€οΈ

π¨ Public Health Becomes Sustainable When Communities Are Empowered Economically and Socially!
At Malkerns in the Lobamba Lomdzala Inkhundla, the HIV Prevention Activation under , The Global Fund supported initiative implemented by HealthPlus 4 Men -Swaziland and coordinated by CANGO News through the Eswatini Country Coordinating Mechanism-CCM (CCM), evolved into far more than a health intervention, it became a platform for transformation, leadership, and future-building.
π Research consistently shows that community-led HIV prevention models significantly improve testing uptake, strengthen linkage to care, reduce stigma, and enhance psychosocial resilience among Key Populations.
This activation reflected exactly that approach, bringing services, dialogue, empowerment, and opportunity directly into the community.
As men gathered around steaming umcwembe of Inhloko, dialogue flowed freely and intentionally. Conversations centred on:
β HIV Prevention and Testing
β Linkage to Care
β Behavioural Change
β Mental Health and Wellbeing
β Economic Empowerment and Sustainability.
π What made this activation especially impactful was the integration of the Eswatini National Youth Council, which engaged young men on:
π‘ Entrepreneurship opportunities
π‘ Youth startup funding access
π‘ Financial sustainability
π‘ Self-reliance and economic resilience.
Alongside these empowering engagements, a mobile clinic brought HIV prevention services directly into the community, ensuring accessibility, dignity, and immediate support.
π’ This is the future of public health: Integrated. Community-led. Economically empowering.
Because sustainable HIV prevention requires more than awareness, it requires opportunity, inclusion, and hope.
