Hearty congratulations to Duncan Dlamini, Director of DJD Investments, on winning the Grand Prize at the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2025!

Based at Matsetsa, Lubombo Region, DJD Investments is an agribusiness specialising in breeding and supplying high-quality pork products to leading retailers across Eswatini.

Established in 2017, the company received a E270,000 (USD 15,000) seed grant the following year to set up a waste management system and expand its farrowing crates from 10 to 28. This support came through a partnership between the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which has supported 29 youth-led start-ups nationwide.

The initiative combines RSTP’s incubation services with seed funding from UNDP’s Funding Windows – a flexible, multi-donor mechanism designed to address pressing challenges such as youth unemployment, which affects 56% of young people aged 15–35 in Eswatini.

By fostering innovation, building capacity, and providing financial support, the programme empowered young entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into sustainable businesses.
