Danish photographer Jan Grarup, who specializes in conflict photography, was working in South Sudan when he was taken by surprise. While traveling near the Nile River, he met a boy wearing a Milan shirt, which was badly worn and clearly patched up multiple times.

As a Rossoneri fan himself, Jan offered to swap the shirt for a new one, with the intention of donating the original shirt to the club's museum.

This emotional event inspired an alternative jersey Milan wore in 2022.
