SSPDF DENIES KILLING CIVILIANS IN WESTERN EQUATORIA

The South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) have denied reports circulating on social media alleging that government troops killed civilians in Western Equatoria State.

SSPDF spokesperson Gen. L*l Ruai Koang told reporters on Wednesday that the claims are false, insisting that the clashes involved members of the SPLA-IO who were dressed in civilian clothes.

“We did not move from house to house killing civilians. In Western Equatoria, especially in Negero County, most SPLA-IO fighters don’t wear uniforms they operate in civilian clothes,” Gen. L*l said.

His remarks follow online reports showing young men in civilian attire allegedly killed by government forces.

BREAKING NEWS🚨

Gunfire has been reported just 20 minutes ago at Amarat Residence, near the President’s Office in Juba. Witnesses say the gunshots were loud enough to be heard as far as Munuki.

The cause of the shooting remains unclear, and authorities have not yet released an official statement. Security forces are reportedly moving toward the area.
