OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE APPOINTMENT OF FDP NATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND EGYPT CHAPTER

The Chairperson of the Federal Democratic Party (FDP), Hon. Changkuoth Bichiock Reth, exercising his constitutional and political mandate, has formally appointed the Deputy Chairperson, Acting Secretary General, members of the National Secretariat and their Deputies, as well as the Leadership of the FDP Chapter in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

These appointments are part of the Party’s ongoing effort to strengthen institutional structures, consolidate leadership, and ensure effective political organization both nationally and among the diaspora. They reflect the Party’s commitment to discipline, unity, and readiness to participate in the democratic process.

Friday, 12th December 2025 — Juba, South Sudan

Today, the former Chairperson of the Finance and Economic Planning Committee of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA), and current Chairperson of the Federal Democratic Party (FDP), Hon. Changkuoth Bichiock Reth, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai, the Director-General of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Hon. Changkuoth expressed his satisfaction upon observing that the Bureau has begun implementing several key amendments made to the NBS Act during his tenure in Parliament. He noted that these reforms were essential in strengthening the mandate, efficiency, and operational structure of the institution.

For his part, Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai warmly welcomed the visit, describing it as “important and encouraging.” He commended Hon. Changkuoth for his leadership, highlighting that during his term as Committee Chairperson, he successfully advanced the NBS Bill within three months, a milestone achievement considering the bill had been pending for nearly twelve years.

The visit underscored the shared commitment to supporting institutional reforms, strengthening national statistical systems, and enhancing evidence-based decision-making in South Sudan.

Women Mediators Meet SSOA Faction Led by Hussein Abdelbagi to Revive Stalled Peace Process

Juba, South Sudan – 26 November 2025

Women mediators met on Wednesday with the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) faction led by Hon. Hussein Abdelbagi Akol as part of a broader initiative to revive momentum toward the implementation of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS). The engagement, supported by UN Women and facilitated by the Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO), comes at a critical time when key provisions of the peace agreement—such as security sector unification and election preparations—remain largely unfulfilled.

The consultative meeting took place at the SSCC Compound in Juba from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and was attended by senior SSOA leaders, including Hon. Clement Juma, Deputy Chairman, Hon. Changkuoth Bichiock Reth, Secretary-General, and other senior members of the faction who are also Chairpersons of their constituent parties.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Hon. Clement Juma stated that the discussions focused on identifying the major impediments to the implementation of the peace agreement and proposing a roadmap toward a future high-level dialogue.

Today, Mr. Raan James Yoal paid a courtesy and consultative visit to the Federal Democratic Party (FDP) Headquarters, where he met with the party’s Chairperson, Hon. Changkuoth Bichiock Reth, in his office to discuss the party’s mission, vision, and general political direction.

Following the meeting and the explanations provided by the Chairperson on the Federal Democratic Party’s objectives and values, Mr. Raan expressed his appreciation and formally joined the party, noting its commitment to democratic principles, federalism, peace, and national unity.

He further acknowledged the growing interest among South Sudanese citizens, particularly young people, who are seeking inclusive political engagement, accountable leadership, and sustainable development.

Mr. Raan also stated that the Federal Democratic Party and the SPLM share certain national priorities and could find common ground for cooperation in areas that promote peace, stability, and inclusive governance.

Today 13th August 2025,

Hon. Changkuoth Bichiock Reth, Chairperson of Federal Democratic Party (FDP) was visited by Ustaz. Mario Malithdit, 1st Secretary General of the SPLM-IO in Lakes State, Yirol County.

The visit from Mr. Malithdit was to know more about FDP as he sees the party as a national party that advance the interest of the country and its citizen. The meeting was attended by Mr. Malual Dhieu Malual, Chairperson of FDP Youth League.

The visit was full of briefing from the party Chairperson on what FDP stands for and it's Manifesto.
The two agreed to continue engaging on political discussion.
