Statement on the Passing of the Lantoto National Park Warden

It is with deep sadness that Enjojo Foundation mourns the passing of General Joseph Taban Zakari, Park Warden of Lantoto National Park, who passed away on Tuesday, 9 June.

Since the beginning of our partnership with the South Sudan Wildlife Service, we had the privilege of working closely with Mr. Zakari on a daily basis. We will deeply miss his presence, collaboration, and commitment to our shared efforts to strengthen the protection and management of Lantoto National Park.

We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all members of the South Sudan Wildlife Service during this difficult time.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this loss.
