Dear sir/Madam,
Greetings in the name of God.

REF: THE UNKNOWN GUNMAN INCIDENT AT WARRAP TOWN AGAINST OUR CHURCH LEADERS.

On behalf of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Greater Bahr Ghazal Field, and on my own behalf, we would like to take this opportunity to confirmed the trending incident of the unknown gunman in Warrap town, Tonj North County of Warrap State against our church leaders in the person of Pastor Joseph Ayii Agiu Kuot(Ayiii Makuek) and Elder James Mangong Akol Anyar.

According to the local source, it's true that they were shot by unknown gunman at Panda-odhie on their way to Panthiou at Warrap town outskirt while traveling by motor bike at around 7 PM after the wedding officiated by Pastor Martin Manyiel Maluil at the Warrap SDA Central Church on 29th of July 2025.

The attack led to the loss of the precious life of our elder James Mangong Akol and Pastor Ayii's back injury with the bullet inside his back as the same bullet penetrated through both of them.

The perpetrator(s) made it off with the pastor's phone and motor bike. We thank God that Ayii got operated successfully after being taken to Wau Teaching Hospital that same night.

Therefore, as a Church, we regretted and condemned the loss of our elder's precious life and the injury to the pastor in the face of their commitment to the community's peace as they were conducting the official wedding which promotes Social co-existence in the community.

The issue of the unknown gunmen in
some parts of Warrap State particularly Warrap town has reached an extent in which church leaders who are the peace agents have now been attacked, therefore, in the light of the above matter, we called upon both the county and State governments to bring those perpetrators to the law.
