NBA Africa Coaches Clinic!

When: December 4th and 5th at the Manute Bol Basketball Court. The time will be determined and announced on our social media platforms soon!

Why: The Jr NBA aims to reach approximately 450 youths from various schools around Juba to participate in learning and growing in the sports of basketball. The coaches clinic will take place to support with the growth and development of coaches and anyone interested in coaching an U16 team. There are 150 spaces available for the clinic and the requirements for the selection are:

-complete the registration form

-sign waiver form

-submit valid photo and identification

South Sudan is ranked 1st in Africa and 31st in the world according to the latest Nike FIBA ranking released on Friday.

The Bright Stars who finished 17th in the just concluded FIBA World Cup put up a fantastic performance winning three and losing two of their five world cup games in Philippines.
The team lost its first and third games to Puerto Rico and Serbia.

Wins against China, Philippines and Angola saw the Bright Stars become the only African team to qualify for next year's Olympics in Paris.

Eight direct tickets to 🏀 issued at the World Cup while 19 teams join the Bahamas 🇧🇸 Bahrain 🇧🇭 Cameroon 🇨🇲 Croatia 🇭🇷 and Poland 🇵🇱 in next year's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.

8th September 2023(Juba)- President Salva Kiir met with the South Sudan Basketball National Team to congratulate them on their remarkable achievement of qualifying for the Olympics 2024. The team's outstanding performance in the Fiba World Cup 2023 secured their place in the prestigious global event.

The meeting took place at the Presidential office, where President Kiir warmly received the players and coaching staff. The President expressed his pride and admiration for the team's dedication, hard work, and exceptional talent, which ultimately led to their qualification for the Olympics.
