Postponement of the upcoming Jieng Cultural Festival

Dear Members of the Jieng Community, Esteemed Guests, and Partners,

We regret to inform you that the Jieng Cultural Festival scheduled for 24–26 April in Juba has been postponed until further notice.

This decision follows the tragic massacre in Abiemnom, which has deeply affected our community. During this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with the victims, their families, and the entire Abiemnom community.

A new date for the festival will be announced after consultations with community leaders and when the situation allows.

Thank you for your understanding, compassion, and unity during this time of mourning.

BREAKING NEWS: Now, Akobo residents and thousands of other civilians that were displaced from their various locations in Jonglei State are protesting on the streets of the county's headquarters.The civilians are demanding the government to stop taking the war to that area saying it's their only destination for safety.

This protest came as the result of warning given by SSPDF to NGOs, UN and civilians to evacuate the area within 72 hours before they carry out their operation in the town.
