Ereg Development Centre (EDC) is a humanitarian organization committed to protecting, supporting, and improving the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged communities across Somalia, with a particular focus on the Galmudug regions.

We work to provide humanitarian assistance, respond to the needs of people affected by droughts and other emergencies, raise community awareness, and implement sustainable development projects that promote resilience and improve livelihoods.

Supporting mothers and children is the top priority of Ereg Development Centre, an organization that is always committed to providing care and support in every aspect to the communities living in Galmudug.

The communities in Galmudug face the same challenges as many other parts of Somalia, including droughts, conflicts, diseases, and malnutrition.

Therefore, we are determined to rescue and stand by our people.

Our objective is to achieve sustainable and lasting solutions for the development of the Galmudug communities.

Somalia is facing a worsening drought crisis that continues to displace thousands of families living in different parts of the country. Failed rains, prolonged drought, and severe water shortages have destroyed people’s livelihoods, killed livestock, and pushed already vulnerable communities to the brink of survival.

Many families have lost their homes, sources of income, and access to basic services. Women, children, and the elderly are among the most affected by the crisis.

Ereg Development Centre (EDC) calls for strengthened humanitarian support and urgent funding to protect vulnerable communities, provide life-saving assistance, and restore hope for people across the country.

A report released by the Ereg Development Centre - EDC shows that more than 1.2 million Somalis are on the brink of facing a severe hunger crisis due to the ongoing droughts affecting the country.
