Adding glamour and global appeal to the night is celebrated media personality Anto Lecky, who will serve as the official host. Known for her dynamic presence since rising to fame on Big Brother Naija 2018, Anto has evolved into a leading voice in Africa’s creative and youth development space, currently serving as a Special Adviser to the Governor of Edo State, Nigeria.

On the intellectual front, the event will feature a prestigious Heroes Legacy Lecture delivered by Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, Komba Kamanda. Widely respected for his dedication to justice, institutional reform, and the rule of law, Justice Kamanda’s address is expected to set a compelling tone for leadership and accountability across the region.

KOICA Alumni Association in Sierra Leone (KAASL) Holds Strategic Meeting

The KOICA Alumni Association in Sierra Leone (KAASL) held a meeting on Thursday, 5th March 2026 at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) to review progress and plan key activities for the year.

During the meeting, members reviewed the action points from the October 2025 Annual General Meeting and discussed the 2026 Workplan and Budget, taking into account the amount allocated to the Alumni by the KOICA Nigeria Office. It was agreed that recommendations from the meeting will be consolidated into a final workplan to be shared with members by 9th March 2026 before submission to KOICA.

Members also discussed membership subscriptions, reaffirming the agreed monthly contribution and encouraging all members to settle outstanding dues from October 2025 to March 2026 by the end of March.

On institutional strengthening, the association resolved to continue operating with its existing bank account at UBA, with the President to be added as a signatory to the dollar account by mid-March 2026.

In addition, members agreed to organize a courtesy visit to the Korean Embassy in Sierra Leone after Ramadan as part of efforts to strengthen relations and collaboration.

The President further emphasized punctuality and active participation in alumni activities to support the growth and effectiveness of the association.

The next KAASL meeting is scheduled for the first week of June 2026, with details to be communicated in due course.
