Wrapped up another sterile processing training in Sierra Leone.
These trainings may not solve everything, but they create space for connection, questions, and shared learning... and that matters.
By the end, we saw participants practicing with more confidence and imagining themselves teaching others. That’s the real outcome.
Grateful to and their team for their coordination and continued support as hospitals put this training into practice.

Week two of Sterile Processing training in Sierra Leone! This initiative is part of the Safer Surgery program at Connaught Hospital, in collaboration with Mercy Ships’ Education, Training, and Advocacy (ETA) team. We have twenty dedicated participants—nurses and infection prevention specialists—who are enhancing their skills and applying their knowledge to improve patient safety. Four more days of learning ahead, we’re excited to see the impact of this training!
