SIERRA LEONE FACES ‘US TRAVEL BAN’

Sierra Leone and six other countries will face heightened travel restrictions to the United States of America from June 9 2025, as a result of an executive order signed by President Trump.

Other countries that falll under this US sanction of partial travel ban are Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela.

An additional 12 other countries actually face full travel ban, according to an announcement by the White House.

The banned countries include Afghanistan, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Myanmar, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

The White House describes the decision as “common sense restrictions” to protect the national security and interest of America and its people.
