St. Anthony’s Primary Alumni Association Celebrates 120 Years in Grand Style

The St. Anthony’s Primary Alumni Association marked a historic milestone as the institution celebrated 120 years of existence with a colorful and memorable “Back to School” celebration. The event brought together old pupils, distinguished personalities, and well-wishers from different walks of life to honor the rich legacy and achievements of the school over the years.

The celebration was held in a joyful atmosphere filled with nostalgia, unity, and pride as former pupils reunited to relive cherished school memories. The “Back to School” theme created an exciting opportunity for alumni members to reconnect with classmates, teachers, and the school community while reflecting on the institution’s outstanding contribution to education and nation-building.

Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion was Mr. John Fornah, popularly known as “Papee,” a respected man widely recognized in society for his integrity, humility, and commitment to community development. His presence added prestige and excitement to the celebration as many attendees applauded his continuous support for educational and social causes.

Also present at the grand celebration was one of Sierra Leone’s most famous comedians, Faculty, whose appearance brought laughter and entertainment to the gathering. Faculty thrilled the audience with his humor and lively personality, making the event even more memorable for alumni members and invited guests.

Speaking during the occasion, members of the Alumni Association expressed gratitude for the remarkable journey of St. Anthony’s Primary School over the past 120 years. They praised the school for producing responsible citizens, leaders, and professionals who continue to contribute positively to Sierra Leone and beyond.

The event featured cultural displays, entertainment performances, speeches, and networking sessions among old pupils. Many attendees described the celebration as a symbol of unity, friendship, and the enduring spirit of St. Anthony’s Primary School.

Leicester Road Community Donates Footballs to SLIFA in Show of Support

The Executive of Leicester Road Community, together with the leadership of the Leicester Road Community Football Team, under the distinguished chairmanship of Mohamed Sakoma fondly known as Chairman Sakoma today donated a set of footballs to the executive of SLIFA.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Chairman Sakoma expressed profound admiration for the remarkable work being carried out by the SLIFA chairman. He noted that the community deeply appreciates the efforts made to create a platform for players to showcase their talents and develop their football careers.

According to him, Leicester Road Community can proudly boast of having several players currently featuring in the SLIFA team. It is against this backdrop that the community deemed it necessary to take the initiative and donate footballs as a gesture of encouragement and solidarity. He further emphasized that this contribution is only the beginning, assuring that more support will be forthcoming in recognition of the team’s outstanding progress.

Chairman Sakoma also highlighted the introduction of match-day flyers an initiative spearheaded by elders of the Leicester Road Community which aims to promote the team and enhance SLIFA’s visibility as a Premier League side.

In his response, the Chairman of SLIFA, Benjamin Gordon, expressed heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the community’s thoughtful gesture. He stated that the donation carries significant meaning for the club’s executive and players alike, serving as motivation to strive for greater achievements. He concluded by praying for continued collaboration and extended his sincere thanks to the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and the entire Leicester Road Community for their unwavering support and commitment.

Sierra Leone Agrees to Accept Third Party Deportees Under Trump’s Migration Policy — Backed by $1.5M Grant

Sierra Leone has agreed to accept third-party deportees under a U.S.-backed arrangement, a move supported by a $1.5 million grant from the United States Government.

According to Truth Media, quoting Information Minister Chernor Bah, Cabinet approved the deal under the Third Country National Arrangement (TCNA), allowing Sierra Leone to temporarily host migrants and returnees.

The minister insists there is “no quid pro quo” tied to the ongoing U.S. visa ban, describing the deal as a humanitarian, time-bound intervention.
