The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has announced the appointment of an Acting Mayor for the Freetown City Council as the All People’s Congress (APC) continues its boycott of governance.
According to an official statement, Mayor Gbla has been selected to serve in an interim capacity, stepping into the mayoral role during the ongoing political deadlock.

SLRSA Enforce Vehicle Licence Compliance at Mining Sites

On Wednesday 11th March 2026, The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority has commenced Vehicle Licence checks to ensure compliance with Road Safety and regulatory requirements.

The exercise, carried out by the SLRSA officials, aimed to verify that vehicles operating within mining areas posses valid licenses and meet the operational standards.

Insights into Mining Revenue Collection: Nigerian Delegation Visits Sierra Leone’s Extractive Industry Revenue Unit

Students from the Nigerian Defence College (NDC), led by Air Commodore E.O. Oludicun, visited the National Revenue Authority (NRA) in Sierra Leone as part of a study tour to explore the extractive industry’s contribution to national development. Air Commodore Oludicun explained that the visit aimed to deepen their understanding of how the extractive sector supports the country’s growth and the critical role played by the Extractive Industry Revenue Unit (EIRU) in revenue collection and management.

During the visit, Director of Human Resources Dora N. Tucker, speaking on behalf of the Commissioner General, highlighted the strong cultural ties and collaborative relationship between Nigeria and Sierra Leone. She acknowledged the hospitality of the Sierra Leonean people, particularly towards Nigerians, whose support was instrumental in ending the civil war.

The Assistant Commissioner for EIRU at NRA Abu B. Tarawalie provided practical insights into the collection of taxes, royalties, and levies from mining activities, emphasizing their importance as key inputs for Sierra Leone’s economic development.

_REPORT ON PRESENTATION OF 2025 ACTIVITY REPORT TO KISSY POLICE DIVISION_

On Monday, 23rd February 2026, I was privileged to represent Tumac Radio 89.3fm and present the 2025 Activity Report of the Kissy Police Division. The presentation was attended by the Local Unit Commander, Mr. Murana E Kamara, Support Officer, Mr. Siaka Kamara, and other senior rank officers during their morning parade. The meeting highlighted key findings, observations, and the participation of security authorities. The police officers expressed appreciation for the realistic reporting on the behavioral aspects and participation of personnel. They also commended Tumac Radio Management for providing free airtime to discuss vital issues on security, peace, community sensitization, and drug dealing. The event was witnessed by colleagues from diverse media houses during the handing over of the 2025 Report.
