Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah has ordered that one of the sureties in the fraud-related trial of Admire Bio-Jalloh and husband Dauda Jalloh be taken into custody, after the two defendants missed the hearing for the second time.

State Counsel Isaac Sesay asked the magistrate to investigate the absence of the defendants while the complainant has been present all through the hearings.
The defense counsel, S.S Kai, submitted that the defendant is still bereaved and that she's going through psychological trauma, and because of her mental state, she's not present. He requested for an extension of an olive branch to the defendants that on the next adjourned date, both of them shall avail themselves before the court.

The state prosecution objected, saying it is a disrespect to the court, and that such behavior is problematic, while adding that the issue at hand is a criminal offense and so both defendants should be present.

He also pointed out that the defense ought to be present with four sureties - two per defendant - but only three sureties were present in court. He adds that the defendant should not come to the court and seek a date for adjournment, adding that the complainant who demands justice is always in court. He warned that the defendants need to know the seriousness of the case, no matter who they are.

He requested for a bench warrant to be issued, while submitting that the sanctity of the court should be protected in respect of his client. He argued that the defense's behavior can bring the justice system into disrepute, adding that justice should not only be seen, it should be seen to be done.

Responding to the prosecution, the defense counsel says that the other surety is unwell, and that no one should come to the court feeling unwell.

Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah reminded the defense counsel that the matter is a serious one and that both defendants must always be present in court. He warned that the court would not entertain such behavior anymore

He is also a farmer who has acres of farmland for Rice 🌾 🍚 planting in order to support the feed salone project.

He is a strong candidate for the SLPP flag bearer race and he will make a great leader if given the opportunity. Many people are seeing him as the best replacement for president Bio.

The mortal remains of the late National Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC), Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, are expected to arrive in Freetown from Dakar, Senegal, on Friday, 19th June 2026 at 4:30 p.m.

According to APC Parliamentary Leader, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, this marks a slight change from the earlier announced schedule by the party.

He further stated that the APC is working closely with the Government of Sierra Leone and all relevant authorities to ensure a smooth, dignified, and respectful repatriation process.

Arrangements are underway to receive the late Chairman’s body in accordance with tradition and national protocol.
